Final Assignment:
Here is a picture of my final project. If it is hard to tell by the photo, it is 3-D hands made out of clear tape illuminated by a strand of lights inside, lifting a flower out of the water:

Assignment 3: Artist Influence:
One artist that I really enjoy viewing their art work is Robert Nunnington. All of his work is focused around nature which is what I want to focus my big idea around in my art work. He expresses nature through scenes of real nature in his photography. I'm not sure if I want to express my big idea through photography or not but some of our themes are simple, such as how nature can be beautiful, simple, complex elegant or authoritative. That is why I think I will use his art work to inspire my own.

Assignment 2: Personal Connections:
"Word of the Day" Day 5: "Intricate"
Another word that comes to mind when I think of nature is intricate. Nature can be simple just as it can be intricate or complex. Nature can be intricate in ways of appearance. Nature can be displayed in intricate designs that make us wonder how can such things be crafted in such a complex way under the hands of nature.

Assignment 2: Personal Connections:
"Word of the Day" Day 4: "Balanced"
When I think of nature I also think of how it is balanced. Nature works in one giant circle. All the living life forces in the universe depended and feed off one another. Nature thrives off of one another like bees off of flowers and lions off of their prey. Thriving and depending all results in a mutual relationship that has to be balanced. If nature wasn't balanced, there would be no consistency, therefor there would be no nature and we would not exists as humans today.

Assignment 2: Personal Connection:
"Word of the Day" Day 3: "Peaceful"
When I think about nature, the word peaceful comes to mind and when I think about peace, I immediately think about water. Water can be calm or it can be rapid and changing but when I think about it in a peaceful state of mind, I like to picture a waterfall. The water flowing in a consistent pattern eases my mind, allowing nature to take a lazy route as the water cascades over smoothed rocks and pebbles. These photographs taken by Cecil P Whitt are so dreamy they just make me want to fall asleep and relax. I think Cecil brought nature to life in a perfectly peaceful way.

Assignment 2: Personal Connection:
"Word of the Day" Day 2: "Simple"
When I think of nature the word simple comes to mind. Nature is simple. You can find nature everywhere and it can be as simple as a grain of sand, or in this case, a pile of sand dunes out in the desert. I think that thin photo Robert Nunnington captures it beautifully and I think it captures our eyes of how simple art can be by taking the photo in black and white.

Assignment 2: Personal Connections
"Word of the Day: Day 1: "Beauty"
When I think about my big idea nature, beauty comes to my mind immediately. And when thinking about what beauty represents in nature I think of how beautiful dew drops appear on roses. I think this Alaskan photographer captured this picture very well. Beauty in nature I also think of water and sunsets. (Photo by Fito Fuente)
